Portraits from Sri Lankan hill villages

I spent two days hiking through The Hill Country in Sri Lanka. The landscape was lush with mountainous peaks and the locals were overwhelmingly sociable. It was hard to imagine life in such isolated pockets, so high up into the mountains. At each village and inhabitants I was greated with great excitement, children were fascinated and the daily routine was momentarily paused. Below some of my portraits from this experience.
